Welcome to Beself (“the App”). We respect your privacy and take reasonable measures to protect personal information in accordance with applicable laws. Please read this Policy before you install or use the App.

This Policy describes how we handle personal information when you install and use the App on devices such as Android or Windows. The App provides web browsing and on-device utilities. Third-party websites or services you choose to visit are governed by their own policies.

• Device and network status: Used for connectivity, downloads, and basic stability (e.g., whether the network is available), not to identify you by itself.
• On-device app data: Settings, bookmarks-like data, caches, notes, and files you export are stored locally in app-specific storage; we do not upload this to our own servers unless you voluntarily share or upload it elsewhere.
• Camera, microphone, location: Used only when the system grants permission and a webpage or feature legitimately requests it; you can revoke access in system settings.
• Notifications: For download completion, foreground task status, etc.; configurable in system settings.
• Files and media: Accessed through the system picker or paths you explicitly authorize; we do not scan unrelated files beyond your actions.

3. Permissions (as shown by your OS)

• Network access and state: load pages, downloads, connectivity checks.
• Foreground services: compliant background sync or media-related tasks with status visibility.
• Camera, audio recording, audio settings, wake lock: multimedia scenarios in webpages or the App.
• Storage and media: save and read app data and files you choose; scoped storage and data minimization where applicable.
• Location: when needed by a webpage or feature and authorized by you.
• Vibration: light UI feedback.

4. Third parties and content

Third-party sites may collect information independently. Please read their policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices; the App follows common platform security practices (e.g., preferring encrypted transport where possible).

5. Storage and security

• Data is primarily stored on your device; keep your device secure.
• We apply reasonable safeguards against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.
• We do not sell or share personal information with others except where required by law or with your separate consent.

6. Minors

Minors should use the App under guardian guidance. If we learn we collected a minor’s information without appropriate consent, we will take compliant remedial steps.

• Manage local data via in-app features or by uninstalling;
